Silver Eagle Outfitters Promotes Line of Outdoor Cooling Apparel to Fight Heat Stress
HUNTSVILLE, Alabama-October 7, 2004-Silver Eagle Outfitters, the leading manufacturer of cooling apparel made of a specially-designed, evaporative cooling fabric, is offering a line of clothing and blankets that can increase both comfort and physical performance in outdoor activities-all while decreasing the risk of heat stress.
Silver Eagle Outfitters created their range of cooling apparel for any individual who is exposed to heat and the associated risks of heat and sun-related illnesses through their jobs, exercise, or hobbies. Silver Eagle offers an alternative to the heavier and more costly solutions with its unique three-layer evaporative cooling fabric. Rather than using cooling gels, chemicals, or ice packs, Silver Eagle products are activated in minutes with water to provide hours of effective, lightweight cooling relief.

Heading up the headwear line, which includes cooling ball
caps, helmet liners, and Do-Rags, is the new Silver Eagle wide-brim Kula™
hat. Named after the "Kula" agricultural district in East Maui, Hawaii,
where higher elevations and semi-arid trade winds maintain a cool and comfortable
year-round climate, the comfort benefits of the new wide-brim hat prove
it worthy of its name. Among the features are the following:
- The entire hat, including the three-inch brim and cool-comfort headband, are made of Silver Eagle's evaporative cooling fabric.
- Snap buttons on each side of the cap allow the brim to be worn up or down, while a leather retention snap that wraps around the chin to keep the hat in place.
- Rated with an ultraviolet protective factor (UPF) rating of 50 (the highest rating available), the Kula hat provides "EXCELLENT" UV protection from the sun's damaging rays.
- A matching, snap-on neck cover made of the same cooling fabric is also available for additional cooling and added sun protection.
Like the Kula Hat, Silver Eagle's rugged cooling Utility Vests are also designed to provide the strength, durability, and performance demanded in outdoor apparel. These vests are available in pullover and zip-front styles featuring a lightweight, quick-dry outer shell made of pure finish, two-ply Supplex® to resist odors, abrasions, punctures, and tears. For additional protection, the Supplex fabric carries an ultraviolet protective factor rating of UPF 25+.
