Silver Eagle Outfitters Introduces Cooling Vests at Yuma Safety Awareness Week

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama--February 16, 2003--Silver Eagle Outfitters, LLC, pioneers of recreational evaporative cooling apparel and products made of a unique evaporative cooling fabric, introduced a new cooling vest during Safety Awareness Week at the U.S. Army Yuma Proving Grounds in Yuma, Arizona.

This military vest complements the recently introduced cooling vests announced for Commercial, Industrial, and Safety Applications. The Silver Eagle Cooling Vests are proven to keep the wearer cooler and healthier for a fraction of the cost of other solutions. Determined to cut the risk of heat-related injuries, Silver Eagle Outfitters has combined evaporative cooling technology with efficient design and application-specific fabric components to produce the most complete line of cooling apparel in the industry.

"We appreciate the great response to our presentation and products," said Bill Case, Cofounder of Silver Eagle Outfitters, "The insightful feedback we received from the safety personnel at the Yuma Proving Grounds will allow us to better serve our customers."

The new vest is constructed of a rugged, but breathable, Cordura outer shell and is available in desert or forest camouflage in sizes M-5X. It has a treated nylon liner that keeps the wearer dry while wicking moisture from the body. A special core material provides evaporative cooling when activated with tap water, and insulation when dry. The vest has a rugged zippered front and Velcro straps to adjust the waist.

Finding a reasonable way to combat heat stress, which causes muscle cramps, fatigue, irritability, poor judgment, and increased numbers of accidents, has been a frustrating quest for those working in hot environments. Thus far, most personal cooling gear has required refrigeration and ice packs, pumps, tubes, chemicals, or other appliances. Not only is such gear expensive to buy, it is also heavy and uncomfortable to wear, adding to a wearer's burden rather than helping to reduce it.

Rather than using cooling gels or ice packs, Silver Eagle garments are constructed of a unique, three-layer fabric. Activated in minutes by tap water, the garments use evaporative technology to cool the wearer for two to eight hours, depending on the climate and environmental conditions. Fully activated, Silver Eagle apparel remains light and breathable, allowing the wearer full range of motion and consistent comfort. The water-repellent inner liner used by Silver Eagle pulls heat away from the body and wicks moisture away from the skin, keeping the wearer cool and dry.

Silver Eagle garments fit comfortably over or under clothing or can be worn directly against the skin. Worn dry, the garments provide an effective barrier to the cold and wind. All Silver Eagle products are machine washable, line-or machine dry.

Cooling caps and Do-Rags are also available. It takes just a minute for hours of cooling. All products can be purchased direct from www.silvereagleoutfitters.com or call us at 888-672-6963
